Just the pod, does not include gauges. Gauge pods (R Magic, PTP, etc are running around $450. You can get A pillar mounts, but the quality has not been that good on these units. Also, they hold 2 52 mm gauges (can sand out to 60 mm gauges) vs. 3 60 mm gauges for the PTP unit.

It definitely seems expensive. I got Lotek to custom-make one for the Mazda6, and even with a small quantity (only 30) the price was only $40.

But, there's no $150 core refund. The finish, while matching the Mazda6, is not nearly as difficult as piano black is, it's not anywhere close to the same size, gauge pods are Lotek's business so they can obviously make them cheaper, and it doesn't have clips or any sort of mounting hardware (the 6 doesn't need it, it sits up there just fine).

There's no doubt that PTP is making good money on these. But, as a supplier of aftermarket parts for the Mazda6, I can tell you that every manufacturer in this business makes damn good money. Margins are huge, but risk can be too with such finicky markets. All in all, just visually, the PTP is a damn good pod, even at that price. Really, when you're going to put in almost $700 worth of gauges (if you get good ones), a couple hundred for the pod they're going to be sitting in ain't so bad. And it rounds the mod out to an even $1000

I called PTP today... The core exchange refund is $50 not $150...

They are putting together a package deal for me, for pod/guages/link controller. Hopefully its a good deal.

to get the best match get Defi BF gauges. You can get em in either red or white, both of which match the interior lights perfectly. These are the gauges that Mazdaspeed uses for their gauge cluster

Well the red ones have also a white light???
I read that there are white ones which will match the cluster's gauges and have some brightness settings and there are the new red ones which have also the white light choice???If so i ll go with the red ones...Amber i believe

You need the control unit to use the gauges. I plan on throwing that in my glove compartment once I get em installed

it is bigger, if you were going to put it there i think you may need to fiel down the side of the dash a lill bit...as the dimensions are a lill bigger on the defi control unit (by like 1mm or something)...i just put mine under the stearing wheel by the hood-release/trunk release. that way i can play with it's buttons whenever i want (to adjust brightness..or to record ... or to check out my peak/warning on the guages).

sorry i dont 'have any pics of them in my car..as my digital camera is being fixed by fuji at themoment...btu even if i did..i am at work at the moment so i can't run pout and take pics...sorry.

I can't decide between the red and white. Hopefully in the near future Defi will release one that changes between red and white, but I know its not likely. I usually keep my speedo white, but all the other lights on the dash are red, so I'm not sure what would look better.

Has anyone got the red guages yet. Some pics would be great if possible.

yea i paid 650 for the 3 guages and control unit (oil temp oil pressure, and water temp)..but i needed to get the sensor attachments for them...which cost me about anouth 200 (less than that but i forgot the number so i'll round up)...so all in all i paid 850 for all of my stuff.

then i installed them myself b/c the local shop wanted 500 to do it..ouch forget that.

p.s. make sure that they come with the sensor attachments..or you'll just have guages sitting there not reading anything.:p

I know its been a REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY long time since I posted anything about the pods but I just need some help from you guys.

Jesse as some of you know does not work here anymore he only helps me out here and there with internet sales on our website. But I have a big problem.

Jesse had all the emails from all of you for your orders on the gauge pods and his house got broken into and they stole a few thousand dollars worth of stuff as well as his LAPTOP which unfortunately for me had all the emails in it.

If anyone who had sent in emails reserving gauge pods could please go back through there emails and reforward the emails to me that would help me out alot.

Those of you that still need or want the pod of course.

I have a few available at the moment and would really like to get these pods to the correct people. The ones who have waited the longest.

I really appreciate all your help guys and your patience.
