Any reviews as far as quality of fit and how well it matches the piano black in the rest of the car?

They used a stock trim peice to fabricate this pod. So it fits just like stock. The paino black finish matches perfectly with the rest of the console. So here's my review:

Fitment: awesome
Looks: even better

:p

I got an email from Jesse @ PTP today saying they are $350 (plus your stock piece) and that they will be available in stock texture as well as the piano black.

I was hoping they'd be available in the textured finish! Now we just have to find a way to get the Defi gauges to have white lettering by day and red by night, and we're set

We are trying to get it done now :D

And we can paint it any color that someone might want that doesn't really matter to us. Just let us know what your looking for. We will do our best or send it just primered maybe even.

And they are unfortunately getting more expensive to make .... which is sorta the opposite of what normally happens as you continue to make the same thing. I'm not going to post price I dont want to get the thread kicked but email if you have any questions.

I'm waiting for the A-Pillar version. One day in the future that is...

Looks great. One question: Does it have only one light setting or brightness? Does it dim with the dash lights in other words?

One setting.. that is the same as the stock white illumination on the main cluster.

Also, why would you wnat the gauges to dim? You wouldn't be able to see them that way.. hehehe

It seems like it would be a bit harsh at night though. Why oh why couldn't they turn them red when the headlights come on like the stock gauges? As expensive as Defi stuff is you'd think they'd have every possibly bell or whistle.

actually i believe that you could hook it up to dim with the gauges if you wanted, that is if you got the red ones and therefore kept the dash red at night instead of white.

Does it fit over the top of the dash, or did you have to cut into the top ? Looks real nice though.

Actually the Defi BF gauges do dim. There is a wire that connects to the headlights and the gauge dims at night when you turn the lights on. I believe it's got 5 brightness levels.
During the day, I have mine set at the brightest setpoint and it is too bright at nighttime so I have it set to dim.

In talking to PTP while ordering mine, it is a complete replacement of the stock piece, using the stock clips. No cutting required, you just pull out your stock piece, put their piece in, and voila. And then you send them your stock piece back for a $150 core refund.

I called them today and got a price I thought was a little high. It occured to me, maybe that includes the gauges, but I doubt it. Can anyone confirm this?
