I run the same set up as Team and i am having no problems with mine. I just grounded the sensor and the gauge. i didnt ground the adaptor. I wonder if his thermostat is causing some problems? Not enough info.

Where did you wire the gauge power Team? I used the ashtray's power source and they act funny if I dim the dash lights.
I grounded the hose adapter too btw. Other than that the gauges are pretty accurate despite being cheap. 2°c or so variation from the OBD so it's ok.

 

Damn I wish those came in the premium series.

 

sweet, I have the digital series. I wont need both of those seems over kill IMO. Having the intake temp would be good.

Speaking of IAT's, how close to ambient are yours Chris? Mine are within 10F even with no tray under the intake. I just have the intake wrapped in DEI tape.

Yeah me too, especially when I see prolonged boost. Are you fully tuned yet?

 

nope. We were starting to really move along and then my computer had a huge hardware fail got it back up and running so we are just now getting into boost tuning

Again, grounding the sensor to the gauge should work, however, take note that if you didn't properly seal the threads, the coupler will act as a floating ground point. If the coupler isn't grounded to the chassis, then you are going to have a poor reference. The thermocouple can use the threads as a ground.

 

That's probably the problem. I have the car torn apart for building yet another new intake setup, so it will be a while before I can test it out.

That is because that is a dimmable circuit and once the gauge power drops below around 9volt it begins to shut down. try changing to a full 12v power supply (One that is not connected to the dash lights).

 

Agreed. Use the glove compartment light for the accessory lighting, it is a very short run from the gauges so it wont be that bad to run.

 

I know... since it works and I can change their color while dimming the lights that's where they will stay connected to.

 

I just bought a set of gauges and oil plate, I gotta say I love the EVO gauges. They look awesome... The only thing I'm having an issue with, is my oil plate is not sealing properly and constantly leaks oil.. I've teflon taped the holes where the sensors go into, and checked the double lip gasket. I even bought new oil filters and reseated/reinstalled the thing about 5 times now... and I'm still cleaning up my drive way/garage for oil... I should have gone with my gut and ordered the oil plate from RB.

 

never had any issue with my RB plate, which was bought 2nd hand

not to say that you aren't overlooking something on the one you have tho'

 

I have had the prosport plate for a few years. I bought it second hand and I have never had any issues. It it leaking at the oil filter mating surface?

 

yea it seems to be leaking where the oil plate meets the engine. Whats weird is I still have good oil pressure from what the gauges are telling me, and it seems like a big leak... I do have the mazmart oil pressure kit installed but I've never seen it go past 120psij, i'm assuming it can handle that kind of pressure..

 

The gasket may have gotten knicked or cut somehow.

 

I checked the gasket looked fine to me, no cuts or holes... at this point I don't want to try to remove again... I'm just waiting on my replacement... but this is what the leak looks like after a minute of parking my vehicle driving 5-10 minutes. I've put a half of quart of oil so far, and I've tried different oil filters (don't hate i'm using fram atm..).

 

have you tried to see if it leaks with out the adapter on and just a filter? It's hard to tell from the pics if it is actually the adapter leaking.
