Cant find any listing with zeta relating to the rx8... are those rare or something? You sounded like they are very popular.

The 8 is my dd so I guess I'd make good use of this.

Also, does it hinders the hinge that allows you to open it?

I searched for "rx8 console", which is the most logical thing the seller would list it as, and found it in about 6 seconds:

Yes, it does.
That was the major reason for me to sell mine and install a leather cover from ShiftStyle instead, just to make the interior look a bit more "upscale", heh.
The Zeta pad was pretty good though... but apart from the fact that it obstructed the lid to open sideways, I didn't like the cheesy rotor symbol on top of it, unlike some other folks. Different strokes I guess

In all honesty, the elevated elbow height of the Zeta pad wasn't that big of an advantage for me. That may be due to the fact that I'm 6' 6" tall, with long arms
And I did not lean onto the armrest anyway to appreciate the extra padding, first because I didn't need it and second, because I was afraid of breaking the little plastic thingies on the underside of the armrest like so many other peeps

The latch was fine, it was the opening sideways to reveal the secret second compartment thing for me. Since it makes the lid half an inch bigger, it hits the seat when I open it sideways.

I like the rotor.

I'm 5'11 so it was perfect for me, my arm was always rested on it.

I never broke the plastic thingies.

I'm glad that you agree on how it feels: great.

Did I mention that I like the rotor?

I think you're giving out inaccurate information. The poster asked if the cover hindered the hinge, which you use to open the lid to the side. The answer should be no, because it in no way hinders the hinge. The added thickness (3/4 inch, lol) will stop the lid, well, 3/4 inch sooner than it otherwise would have stopped if it were stock, and I just can't believe that anything you could have already fit inside that 3" deep cubbyhole would be hindered by the inability of the lid to open that extra 3/4 inch. Come on now.

Good for you. I don't.

I never broke the plastic thingies.
Again, good for you. Many did. I didn't either, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. However, it has nothing to do with the Zeta pad, that's for sure.

I'm glad that you agree on how it feels: great.
I didn't say that. It feels OK. Not that big of a deal though.

You are right, it wasn't the hinge, but the side effect of the extra thickness that bothered me.
It didn't let the lid open properly because it bumped against the seat. So it didn't stay open if I had to slid it backward and take anything out of the armrest, I had to hold it open otherwise it'd drop down. That was annoying to me.

It wasn't "hindered" completely, it was just bothering me. I didn't say the padding wasn't good, I only said it wasn't that big of a help.
Come one now.
