OEM Alarm system...

Well i jus had an unpleasant experience at the grocery store...i walk outside and some ***** is leaning on my car with his gf... talking to his friend who was sitting in the car parked next to mine...they walked away when i approached and i left it at that.

well my concern now is what can i do for an alarm to prevent this. i dont even kno if i have a stock alarm, i have a stock remote that locks/unlocks, panic button...and if the windows are down you cant unlock from the outside... how can i tell if i have an alarm...

i was searching and i was thinking of getting a shock sensor to detect bumping and such,...would that beable to detect someone sitting on my car??? i know a proximity sensor would do that but i really dont want to drop bread on an aftermarket alarm.

is there a way to instal a siren to the stock alarm so that when the horn goes off the siren can go off aswell??? thats all i really want, hopefully somethin i can do myself too to save money on install.

a shock sensor is just that, a shock sensor, not a bump sensor or a someone sitting on my car sensor.

a prox or motion sensor, if adjusted properly, generally protects the interior zones of the car, if not adjusted properly, will set off the alarm whenever someone walks by.

why would you want to add a siren to the horn, as thatll just add a different noise coming from the car when the alarm goes off.

also, to test if you have an alarm. sit inside the car, press the lock button on the remote, give it about 1 minute, then open the door from the inside. if the horn starts going off, then you have an alarm.

Pretty sure if you have a panic button on the remote.... you have an alarm....

And exactly as larch said, the shock sensor will probably not trip from someone just leaning on your car. And the motion sensor would get highly annoying if you've got it so sensitive it's going off from people walking by it.

sounds kool id def try that out to see if the alarm sounds...

i dont kno how the stock alarm works but with some aftermarket ones if you bump it or lean on the car hard enough it will do a chirp chirp chirp noise, and if you do it like 3 times or so the alarm will go off... thats what im lookin for.

i wanted a siren mainly just for more noise w/ the horn...although the horn is loud as hell stock...hell if i could get some flashing lights in there id do that too lol. i just want the car to create alot of attention.
