No sound from Aftermarket Headunit

I just put a pioneer 2300 double din in my 2004 rx8 and i have no sound out of the factory speakers, i used the metra kit and everything seems to be connected right. i think it has something to do with the factory amp because when i hook a speaker sraight up to the radio it works. ?? any help would be VERY appreciated.

Identical problem, also with a Pioneer HU. I've narrowed it down to the Bose Amp in the trunk and I have a question out to Bose to see if it's because the remote wire doesn't have enough potential to click it on...unless other people have ideas. Hopefully we're having the same problem and it's an easy fix.

Tons of other folks have used the Metra kit with the Bose system. So I doubt that's the problem. You sure you have it connected correctly? You might even try just putting 12V directly at the Bose amp input.

Has anyone ever measured the current draw of the Bose amp turn-on lead? It could be that the newer Pio's can't put out enough current. A relay would probably solve the problem......

I figured out my problem. when i wired the radio i left the remote wire unconected since i wasnt using a aftermarket amp. so what i did was look through the metra instructions and there was a wire called amp turn on so i wired it to the remote and it works perfectly. stupid mistake on my part
