Need help installing Tein EDFC

Hi everyone,

I looked everywhere for any clue about were to tap the wires for my EDFC. I know that some of you already installed it, so I would like to get some help.

I need to tap 3 wires;
constant power supply
accessory power supply
illumination power supply

My EDFC will be installed in the glove box. I already figured out how to route all the wires to the EDFC but I'm still missing the power supply part.

thanks

Here is a DIY for the E-Con from Cusco:

https://www.rx8club.com/auto-rnd-91/tech-install-zero2e-e-con-115805/

As far as a constant AND a switched 12V Pos, I have no idea why you would need them both. I am only going to assume that one of the 3 wires that needs to be tapped would be a ground point or else how would the thing turn on? Either way, the DIY is pretty self explanatory.

Just noticed that some of the pictures aren't showing but the colors of the wires stated in the steps are correct so it shouldn't be too hard to go off of that.

Many thanks

I haven't seen that DIY before.

I'm still missing a wire to tap the constant power supply as requested in the Tein instructions. I have 3 wire to tap, plus the ground.

I think that the accessory plug have a constant power instead of the switched power unlike the cigarette lighter has. I will try installing it this saturday, I will see if it works.

thanks again

hey,

I just installed my EDFC setup a few weeks ago. For all of the wires (constant12v, switched 12V, ground and light) you can tap into the radio harness.

Here are the colours:

Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/Red
Radio Switched Ignition 12V+ Wire: Green/Orange
Radio Ground Wire: Black
Radio Illumination Dimmer Wire: Red/Yellow

Just buy some taps from radioshack and tap into those wires. Everything will work like a charm! Good luck!

Great !! I was about to tap the room fuse for the constant power, but your idea is much better. I will try it as soon as I can. For the other wires, I tapped the cigarette lighter since it has everything I needed, even illumination.

Thanks again
