I am thinking about trying to mod my car to look like the Rx-8's that have the navigation already installed in the top of the dash. like the picture i added. My dash is plain it has no cut out no nothing is there a way to buy that dash piece online? or is there a way i could possibly junk yard the piece maybe with a navigation still in it? or is i just simply not compatible with models it doesn't already come standard in. Because i have a 2005 Rx8 shinka.

 

Run a search please! This topic has been beaten to death. Yes you can get the stock navi and swap out the center dash piece. Keep in mind there are more components needed for the stock navi so start searching.

 

It's more time and money than you think. It's simply not worth it. Go aftermarket and save time, money, have a better performing GPS, DVD playback, AND it'll help your audio system. I understand if you're trying to keep it looking stock. Get over it. I'm speaking from experience. It's not worth it. The Metra kit doesn't look that bad.
