Navigation System stuck!

Hi guys,

I just got an used DVD from one of our member here (NavTech dvd) for my '05 8.
It takes me to the warning screen which says, "warning do not operate while driving, bla bla bla." Then it says to press enter to confirm.

Ok, I tried to press the enter button on the console, and it just won't do nothing. I stuck on that warning screen without being able to do anything.

I wonder if other members have ever had this kind of problem. I'm pretty sure it's not the DVD, maybe my nav system itself is messed up.

I'm planning to take mine to the dealership next week. It is out of warranty so if it's possible, I'd like to try and fix it myself. Any suggestion? Thanks

Problem solved, for you who curious, it just as simple as the Navi buttons were not plugged in properly. I only paid for labor.

Also thx invasion08 for all of his help.

Wow, hey.. How much did they charge you to fix this? I'm having the same problem, I just got an '04 with Nav. Do you think it's easy to where I just need to check the plug connector??

i hope they didn't charge very much because it takes all of like 5 minutes tops to sort that one out. take off the shift **** and pull up the console panel. just snaps in. or if you have long finger nails, you can put the actual nav controls directly out lol. see if it's plugged in. if you're lucky, it's not

Thumbs up

Alright cool thanx. The [enter] button works but the joystick is real finnicky in how you press it, because often times it'll just move the cursor. Thats the problem but I'll check the connector.

sorry charlie, it's an all or nothing deal. if it kinda works, the problem is elsewhere, likely in the control unit itself... probably best off looking for a replacement

Yeah, I took it apart and cleaned it out well and it still did the same thing. At some times only the joystick work and none of the other buttons respond. so yeah.. won an ebay auction today.. Fingers crossed that it works LOL
