For those that are comparing the speed between the speedometer and the gps, will changing the nav's pulse rate (using the backdoor menu) increase the accuracy between the two speed? This is just a guess. My thinking is the pulse rate is the interval at which the computer takes a reading. If you can reduce it, you would increase the accuracy. This has been lurking in my mind for a while, but I'm too chicken to try for fear of messing up the nav system.

thanks every one for your responses. i have been away on vacation out of the country and havent really been on the rx8 site, so it was good to come back and see everyone take an intrest in this. maybe by the time i get my 8, there will be some way to get a reliable reading from the nav system.

Me, too! I accidentally clicked "clear" on the wiring check hidden nav menu, and it wiped out the pulse rate and accuracy level. Luckily it was only temporary - and restored itself after driving for a bit. But I was wondering about the pulse rate myself, and guessed the same thing you did, Parmer8... but I'm definitely not an expert. Anyone know the details about the Pulse Rate?

I was very happy to stumbel across this thread, however, after seeing how cool the speedo check was, i noticed that one of my lights didnt work.

As you can see in the picture these three items work: GPS, Parking Brake, and Back-up Light. However the headlights dont work. In actualality my fog lights are not working. can others with working head and fog lights please check this out. Thansk Matt

matt22- pretty sure that means your headlights are OFF.

but my headlight were on. only my fogs were switched on but not working.
