Like many owners of the '04 and '05 models with navigation, I was looking for an updated map disc (my '04 has the 2002 map disc). Navteq's site shows the 2005.1 maps selling at $199. Spoke with their rep on the phone and she stated that they no longer will be selling map updates beyond the 2005.1 disc for those models and that Mazda is now looking after any updates.

Called my dealer here in Newmarket (Canada) and he's digging around for me. The database shows a map disc available for $299, but he's calling the Canadian head office to find out exactly what map update is on that disc.

I'll keep you posted on what I find.

Oh, and I checked my nav hardware and it's at U9.136 2003.7, which has the updated functionality (split screen, fonts, improved text selection), though I can find nothing in these forums that explicitly states what, if anything, changed on the U9.139 2004.1 version that some people have.
