Nav system behaviour?

Do people with the latest nav firmware experience this:

Whenever I enter an address into the system, it keeps on giving me voice directions even when I put the screen down. This is very annoying. Is there some way to disable voice instructions when the screen is not up?

I have firmware dated Sep 2003

it is supposed to...has nothing to do with firmware

really the nav is supposed to be voice expressed, not visually expressed

so you just have to tell it to stop giving directions (ie nav off)

the nav unit is ALWAYS on all the screen does when you close it is turns off...it is independent from the nav unit except for display input, good luck

Just turn volume off (put it on "0" ) can do this thru set-up or preferred method is when on a navigating map press enter and options will pop up on left side of screen - set volume to "0"

Hi Thew,

Do you know the key differences between 2003.7 and the new 2004.1 version of the nav firmware?

Have you started doing updates again?

Cheers,
Shahid

yes.. its posted all over here. but the Text Font pitch is smaller and cleaner, the loading times for all of the screens is much faster. You have much better controll of the Voice output. theres an improved split screen for on ramps and such, The Voice announces the Freeway names now. ITs much easyer to load in the street names and such. The software makes the entry of text allot better.
