Alright iv got really old firmware I can't use grom units or the others so wen I get a Metra kit I will probably be back haha thanks for the info

 

Metra (Axxess) has started using a MicroUSB connection for their firmware update port. So you guys may start seeing that in your kits and this cable will become a thing of the past.

i have question if someone has Webxxpress and USB bootloader software. I try to update my metra kit but the new Axxess updater does not work.

unfortunately, I was not able to get hold of Webxxpress to check but I know the cable is a basic USB TTL serial connector
What you need is multiple voltage generic cable or the cable at least supports 5V as well
use these pins :
1- Vcc + 5V
2- TTL Transmitter TX
3- TTL Receiver RX
4- GND
Pin 1 is the closet to the outside, the other sockets. For unknown reasons, the forum won't let me upload any photos today.

 

For whatever reason I wasn't able to upload the photos from my macbook and had to use my windows laptop.
Maybe the major reason could be the age of my macbook pro as it is the same as the date on this metra pcb loll
Anyway, that's pin out in the correct order, I didn measure them via multimeter to check the right order.
fun fact ignoring the date on pcb the version in 2.0 has been on the serial number and as confirmed by holding mode selection on screen.

 

Guys the last update to the Metra Axxess was a very long time ago. Look on the circuit board,if it is Rev F 20 which your sticker denotes, that was highest program.
The software doesn't work because you are already at the end.
I talked to a guy at Metra and he explained the last revision was around 2013-2014.

 

I made a proper ground on the chassis near the ashtray. Both audio wine and clock keeping issues disappeared. It appears that the harness ground is junk
