The texture isn't a perfect match to the OEM piece, but it's close enough. I took a pic of it in my car. I just held it in place since it won't fit flush until the OEM panel is cut. It was kind of dark in the garage so I don't think you will be able to tell the difference in the texture.
The last 2 pics are with the Prosport gauges I picked up near Christmas time. Someone mentioned them before in this thread. Finally I can get these in my car and just in time for spring. I think I mentioned before that a friend of mine put these same ones in his Viggen and loves them.

They came in the set of 3. Boost/Vacumm, Oil Press & Oil Temp. The price was a little cheaper when I bought them in December but the price is still killer if you ask me.

This particular pod can't be modified to fit 60mm gauges. Unfortunately if you want to use the 60mm I think you're looking for another solution.

Just installed this in the dash piece, but screwed up a little. The pod was a little lighter than the dash so I painted it blacker...now it's too dark. Gonna paint the dash piece now to match. Damn.
I'll post pics in an hour or so.

Done painting. Now the back of the dash panel matches the pod, but the front is a little too dark. Ohh well. Looks fine...no more painting! Should've left it alone.
(I hope I inserted the pictures correctly??)

They're 60mm gauges that have a stepped case so they fit in 52mm pods. Of course this doesn't help if you already have the gauges.....
Well I for one am confusulled about this! Lyle just confirmed shipment of my "prototype" and I will have it Monday or Tuesday. It is this exact same pod, made by Lotek.
Oh well, doesn't matter to me too much; I'm not making any $$ off of it, just wanted to be sure you guys were getting the same pod I was talkin about!

You probably won't get to many who are interested. I wouldn't want projectiles sitting on top of my airbags.

and if it looks good, and the price is right, I might be interested in an a pillar pod. I am still not sold on the Lotek pod, and not really sold on any of the others out there.

As peps are putting options out here, I've found one that maybe interesting. It's a 1DIN pod thats a complete dash piece replacement, not an overly.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda...spagenameZWD1V
Then use a 1DIN 3 guage plate like this, for example
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DIN-S...QQcmdZViewItem
I've seen different ones with different designs, just google it. Not sure but this may also fit 60mm guages as well.
What I like about particular piece is the finish. It looks much more like the OEM rather than the kind of moulded plastic look. Plus it's a complete replacement of course. If you click the 4th pic down in the ebay listing for the pod, it gives a nice cloeup of the finish which looks very close to OEM I think.

Never said they interfer with the bag itself...only making reference to them being launched when it goes off. If you have seen as many vehicles as I have with deployed airbags you would know what I'm talking about.

ok peps I finally got this in the mail and I must say for less than $60 this pod I freakin sweet! It matches the dash near perfectly! I took a few close-up pics so you can tell, there is almost no difference whatsoever in the pattern on color.
This is a very nice pod and the gauges are angled perfectly at you. It does require some minor cutting (to get the gauges to lay flush in the panel) but fitment looks spot-on and I have no worries. It even includes a template and instruction and silicone adhessive and spring clamps to get the job done right. It looks like a factory option- really!
Here's a shot of the entire pod:
Here's a close-up pic of the qualitly:
AS you can see, it matches it 99% perfectly. You really have to examine it to tell any differences. The pod runs the whole width of the top panel and even has a little lip to end right at the radio screen. So it's like replacing the whole panel, because the only line from this pod will be at the back towards the windsheild, which you can't even see.
I checked out the ProSport gauges but I'm still not sure.....Their premium series gauges that have programable peak/warnings that buzz and flash at a preset limit look really nice, and they have a stepper swiss motor movement, and are around $250 shipped for all 3 (water temp, oil temp, oil press) including all hardware, daisy-chain wiring (no controller), and senders. Then I need the RB oil temp/press and water temp adaptors for nearly $100.
I let someone borrow my Dremel so I need to pay them a visit so I can get it back so I can cut my dash and get this thing installed!
