I did the install with a single JL 8W3v2. the thread is posted elsewhere but you can see the pics here. http://www.msnusers.com/RX8Sub/

If you have the cash you might go for the 8W7 as it provides much more volume and deep bass than the 8w3v2. The 8w3v2 fit my budget and my desire for bass. Also the 8w3v2 was not nearly as deep as the 8w7 so I was able to keep a fair amount of my trunk space. I plan to install a rear strut tower brace so I did not want to give away too much trunk space.

How does it sound? Well paried to a JL 250/1 it is fills in the lows quite nicely. I am a fan of smaller subs because they attack the bass more quickly resulting in a crisper bass sound. If you like rumble then you should get a 10" or 12" and seal it in the trunk. That is not to say that this setup does not provide that low bass rumble but it is not nearly as much as you would get from a 12" in the trunk. The sound is very different when you expose the sub to the air inside the vehicle. I had to play around with the amp settings for a while until I had the sound I was after. I finally set the amp crossover to 65hz and that worked out perfect.

If you are thinking about two 6" speakers I think you will get much better sound out of a JL 8W7 instead. That Subwoofer should be the reference standard for all subs.

Usually that is the case. I think two JL6W0's in a ported enclosure would work well. Power handling is going to be a somewhat limiting factor if you are a bass freak.

But with two 6W0's in a .5 Cubic foot ported box tuned to 30Hz with 200 Watts behind and it would make for some quality bass.

Quantity? Not really.

For a standing wave to occur, a dimension of the accoustic chamber, inside of box or listening area, has to be longer than the wavelength.

For 80Hz and below, the wavelength is above 12 feet. That is longer than any dimension in the cabin area. Standing waves cannot result.

What's even more hilarious is that you just bumped an almost 7 year old thread to say that.
