i heard Donjuan (anthony)'s system today, from what i remember he had new speakers put in with just a single 10 inch sub. it sounded real nice, not quite enough bass for me but it gave me an idea of what i would need to get what im looking for. definitely 2 tens, from what a few people said, maybe some new speakers a capacitor or 2 and a strong amp. quite possibly a stronger battery too.

Personally I think a capacitor is overrated. It only actually works for like 15sec of heavy bass, and you're back to square one then.

For what you are looking for, you dont need a capacitor. I ran 2 10's in my nissan, and if you have decent power run to them, and have all the levels set correctly will more than do your job. You will want to up your speakers and power those on a seperate amp because it wont take much for the subs to drown out your speakers

im out of town right now. will be going to the audio installer when i get back. will keep u updated. probably going to go with 2 tens, new speakers, 2 amps and a touch screen deck that replaces the current head unit (supposed to be 800 for screen)

not sure about the screen yet but that would be ideal. i will keep u updated.

Factory/Custom system

I had a quote worked up recently for my 2005, with base non-bose system.

I will give you the details of the quote for reference, I have not pulled the trigger yet. I have a friend who did something similar in a Subaru WRX and it's slammin. You will notice that there are no rear deck mounted speakers included. Installer says don't need 'em with this set up, in this small space. My friend sys doesnt have them either. With the stock head unit, processor and the installers laptop, they will set up your system to sound absolutely perfect to your tastes. My local shop with this install would connect and tweak as much as I would like. I know this will be a killer system but I am a big time do it yourselfer and do not pay for labor on just about anything, so I would like to do it myself. i priced the components on-line and you can definately save a couple of hundred off prices listed. The other thing I would like to add is the mp3 interface so I can plug in my blackberry which I use for mp3 playback, and GPS (nice alternative to the dashmounted nav system at a fraction of the cost.

Good luck, Vee.

Here's what my local shop put together:
Focal -165A1 6.5" Component speaker system (front) $299.95
RF-3Sixty.2 Rockford Fosgate digital signal processor $699.99
RF-P400-4 Rockford Fosgate Punch, 4 channel amp (fronts) $399.95
RF-P400-2 Rockford Fosgate Punch, 500watt amp (Sub) $369.95
RF-P 210S4 Rockford Fosgate 10" P2 Sub Woofer 2 total--------------> $359.90
RF-CP4P1 Rockford Fosgate 4guage amp kit w/ dist accessories $169.95
Materials Installation Materials for custom sub enclosure
with false floor/ amp rack $160.00
Wire Misc wire for system $50.00
Install Custom Installation of all $1,438.8

Discount Nice enough to apply a discount (lol) -$848.49

GT and the Grand total is -------------------------------------------> $3,100.00
