...i'm curious: people who've driven/seen the dashboard lights, can you use a dimmer switch to have the daytime dash lights on when you put your lights on?? i make a point of turning on my lowbeams (to turn on the rear running lights) during the day for better visibility to other drivers, but i've never had to worry about a strictly back-light dash... well, how 'bout it??

don't feel like searching for it atm but i remember someone mentioning in a previous post that turning the dimmer all the way up or something would make it look like daytime gauges.

Yeah I posted it. When the car lights are you turn the dial to the highest setting it will click and the guages will go back to white. So you have the option of either red and white guages at night and white durinh the day.

Kind of you to think so but it's a straight theft from the Japan site. A simple animated gif like any other file

Last week I rented a Nissan Altima while on a business trip to Portland OR.

With the ignition off, the Instrument Cluster was dark & difficult to see.

With the ignition on & the headlights off the cluster illuminated blue.

With the ignition on & the headlights on the markings on the cluster became red.

At least this is what I remember. Sounds like the RX-8 may work on a similar order.
