i was reading on the posts and heard a psp mentioned. i came up with an idea that i dont know if it has been done yet but is what i think is great. the psp are upgradable to a 1gig plus memory card. these are capable of handling a massive amount of music/multimedia. what if the industry came up with a transmitter that plugs into the usb port of the psp that linked to a reciever that is integrated to the sound system. this sounds like a simple idea and the theory is but the integration is actually quite complicated. alpine currently has two models out that link to the factory stereo without losing the stock hu. if you took the receiver module that would have to be built and used an AI-Net connection to the alpine unit you would essentially have a wireless hard drive for much less than the cost of a traditional unit that could be used in any vehicle. i have been pondering this for a while and was thinking about pursuing it further. with my knowlegde i can only go so far into it but i do know a guy that may have the knowledge to actually build a prototype unit. im not marketing anything but i would like some feedback suggestions because it seems like with the way vehicles are headed this would have a potential niche market.
