My custom install(pics), thx to all who provided info...

Thanks to those who answered my questions and to all who contributed to forum where I've found lots of great info.

The install was done by a very talented friend of mine who used to do installs at Tweeter. He probably spent at least 20 hours doing dynamat as it is literally everywhere, I wish we'd taken pictures of it apart.

The head unit was left stock but we did install a bass **** in the center console which really makes it enjoyable to listen to since I don't have to adjust the gains. The amp is an Xtant X604, powering 2 JL 10s and MB quartz speakers. There is a 5 farad cap under the carpeting as well. We dropped everything down into the well and only lost about an inch in height from the framing, we also left the pass through in tact making the trunk still very usable.

The only thing I may do now is add either an IPOD or hookup a tablet PC. =)

I have to say that is probably my favorite custom job so far. You have power, plus you still have your trunk. Very nicely done my friend!

I have a very similar setup, but it's not finished. I can see that you put your amp in the lowered part of the trunk. How did you cover it, I'm interested in making a false floor to cover it, but not spend millions in the process.

Very nice setup. One of the cleanest I have seen. I love the remote bass control as well. Very nice location. That's a first for me!

Didn't you buy those 4080 boxes from that member a while back? With those Kicker subs and amp? Did that not work out?

Yeah, I got them and they are working great. I would have given the guy one of the great review thingies, but considering that was the last ofhis Rx-8 I'm sure he won't be selling anything else. But yes, I do have them, some pics are over here - https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/false-floor-question-83177/

I just need something to put over the amp so I can still have stuff in my trunk.
