Hey all,

I have a 04 rx8 gt. Now in all the rx8s that ive seen there is a removable carpet cover that covers up a hole in the trunk. Like where you would put the saftey kit and where the tools to jack the car up are.....that is the hole i think its the cargo area. and ive seen everyone have a matching piece of carpet that lays over it. I called 4 dealerships and none of them know what im talking about. they all say that i need a cargo tray. thats just plastic you lay in there. Im looking for the cover and they said find a part number or a name for it. Otherwise they dk. Can anyone help. And its not like ive not looked online too, found nothing. Also there is no junk yards around me that have rx8s lying around. there is actually only 2 that ive seen around me since ive owned the car for a couple weeks.

Hey ice, welcome. It sounds like you're referring to the cargo tray organizer sold by Mazda. I know you're looking for the carpeted piece but that's actually part of the tray. It has slight tabs that go into the plastic tray to hold it in place.

bingo. so they dont sell just the cover. obviously. and i was going for a set up kind of like yours. actually almost exactly except i wanted to build the amp rack. is 60 the cheapest it can be found for?

 

Only sold as a set, $60 is the cheapest I've seen
