hey guys I'm looking to get some new CD's to get some good bump on my system. Any reccomendations? What would sound good on some 10"s?

If you're just looking for fuel for the subwoofers, then I loved some Bass Mekanik for a little while.

The greatest hits is a solid album. #9,15,17 and 18 are some of my favorites. Keep in mind you probably won't be able to hear much on your computer speakers without a solid subwoofer that can reach into the 30-50Hz range.

He also did a collaboration with DJ Billy E called Bad *** Sound System (B.A.S.S.) and here's the amazon link. Continually mixed and more techno than Bass Mekanik's normal stuff. But solid none the less. I like most every song on the album.

If you're looking for rap, then Wayne or Drake.

 

yeah.. I'm looking for some good "rap" stuff.. I like the new Luda CD or Waka Flaka.. Gorilla Zoe, Yung Joc, etc etc..

Don Dorsey - "Beethoven or Bust" is an old one I've used to dial in systems including crossover points, amp gains etc. I've also used it to show friends just how shitty their system setup is since this CD requires a well balanced system to perform well. I caution you though, it requires a refined musical taste but it does get very thumpy. Works out the entire system which is why it's been one of my favorite tuning CDs for many years.

For just bass, Bass Mekanik is awesome as firebirdude has stated.

Rap?? Sorry can't help you there unless you're talking old school. 2 Live Crew has some solid bass.
