How to install my system....
Here's how I have it figured out....
I have a 5 channel amplifier that will be able to sum the 1/2 and 3/4 channels in order to give me the subwoofer output. Thus, I only need a 4 channel LOC.
I am going to run new speaker wire to each speaker from the amp directly. I'll cut the harness coming from the head unit, and splice the LF/LR and RF/RR positives and negatives into my 4 channel LOC. The RCAs will run back to the amp. Question is, should I place my LOC far from the Bose head unit, or close to it? Last time I did this, I placed it close by.
As I understand, I can pretty much rip out the old Bose amplifiers. I am going to take the one off of the rear deck, as well as removing the ones in the doors.
Give me an idea if this makes sense... I know I can fabricate the speaker mounts if I need to, and the subwoofer box might be a project for me to build, or I may just buy the 4080. Thanks for any insight!

You got the idea. Most LOCs recommend installing close to the HU, but this is a PITA in the 8 and just isn't needed. Splice the wires at the input to the main amp as described in numerous posts and you will be golden.

Okay... so how far do the wires run back down the car? I figured that the front speakers will only run to the front doors, and the other two speakers will run down the back, so how can I use the LOC to pick up the two channels that run in the front?
