help..selling car in 4 days.

im selling my 8 this friday and i just noticed my heat doesnt work sometimes...me and my dad figured out its the hot/cold **** but idk if i want to get mazda to fix it...i found the thread about taking everything apart and sodering it...im not good with taking anything apart and i feel like itll take me FOREVER.

what should i do?
it works sometimes...

i read online some people got mazda to replace it because its a known defect?

i dont wanna sell the car and not tell the person or tell him and have him not want it..

its an easy fix. Mine was doing the EXACT same thing. I took apart my dash and module, soldered the 3 points as the DIY says, and bam it works! Actually it works PERFECT! It only took me about 2 hours total time too. And i'm no professional at all either in the soldering business! lol

I say give it a shot yourself. If you've never removed the headunit, there's a walkthrough video in the thread "Take a look at your console...." like 5 threads down from yours. Plenty of other picture walkthroughs if you use the search feature.

I used to install professionally and I've taken my headunit out 3-4 times. I know I could have this done in an hour. So set aside 3 hours just in case and go for it.

Hence the term "stealership".

yes jdenmen03 is rite. Just took like hour and half for me to figure out how to open the module and its really easy. I didnt know too i looked at that post with step by step pics and it worked for me. I went to mazda dealer near me and he suggested the same thing to me. Open it at home instead of wasting 450 dollars for the new part. If you dont know soldering just go to some electronics store and they can do it. I went to frys and he didnt even charge me anything. So just give it a shot and open it by yourself

Do the quick diagnosis from the DIY to make sure that it is the simple problem. If you have the same symptoms then dude just dive in. The fix is crazy simple if you take your time.

If you are not comfortable with soldering then ask a friend who is. Otherwise the taking everything apart is really straight forward. Also follow the tips towards the bottom of the DIY so you don't drop the damn bolt that everyone drops... including me.
