Hi, sorry I have searched the forum and got tons of info which really confusses me. I have purchased a OEM motorised LCD and I am about to purchase 000-NVI-D1 from AV Electric, pls see link below,

I do not have the OEM wiring harness and I have found electic diagramand soldering methods.

Is it correct to say DVD player is VGA out and our OEM LCD is only GRB in, that is why I need an VGA/AV switcher?
Thanks alot guys!!

I guess it has been proven with 3 resistors connected to RGB with standard VGA input will solve the puzzle, pls see below thread,

If you didn't have OEM nav, then you don't have the front wiring harness, which you correctly stated- how are you expecting to connect anything to the LCD? Are you going to run all the wires for power/RGB signal/light control on your own?
You also ask about a DVD player having VGA output, but you make no mention of what DVD player you're talking about. I personally don't know of any standalone DVD players with a VGA output. They're mostly composite or s-video, which is exactly what the nav switcher is made to convert to the stock RGBs signal.
You might consider purchasing a good aftermarket LCD like lilliput or xenarc (for less than the nav switcher) that already has support for vga/composite video. This way you can run standard video cables to your source(s), and if your DVD player really is VGA or it is a carpc application, you have a much better resolution natively supported (also, touchscreen if it is a computer setup)
More info about the specific setup you're wanting is needed to proceed any further.

As for DVD player, I do not have any particular model in mind at this point, just trying to figure out how to connect DVD player to OEM LCD. Thanks for your clarification and it is confirmed AV switcher is required to connect composite/S video to RGB. However I am very keen on the 3 resistors connected to RGB with standard VGA input method from below thread, and I do not understand what standard VGA input for US80 Joan-rx8 was refering to still......

Thanks for your suggestion, however I do not want to go into touch screen replacement and car pc project, I just want to have TV tunner/Dvd player and reverse cam. Thanks again.
