Help-need To Remove Glove Box!!!
A few months ago, I didnt realize my girlfriend wasnt wearing her seatbelt and I had to stop short and her knee hit my glovebox handle and BROKE IT OFF At first, I was like whatever, then I realized my registration, insurance, important papers, some money, and my greddy shift **** were all in there! So I tried with pliers to reach in the little hole and grab onto the remnants to attempt to open it, but no luck!
The only way would be to completely remove the glove box! Is there a way to remove the glove box with it being locked shut, or do I have to literally BREAK IT to remove it. Im going through some challenging times financially and really cant afford to just break it and replace it. What Im looking to do Is just remove it, take what I need out of it, and put it back broken FOR NOW.
Please, does anyone know how to remove the glove box??

sorry, the only thing I know of is this:
http://69.108.208.137/ryang/modify/r...ir_filter.html
But that involves being able to open the glove box in the first place. But maybe if you examine the pictures you can come up with an idea? Sorry I cannot be of more help.
edit: Perhaps you can drill it out?

If you get really really lucky you might be able to slide a piece of metal in and release the clasp. Other than that you could break the clips off the bottom of the glove box but I don't think it will open still because of the third connection. Good luck though.

Yeah, I would look at someone else's 8 and study their glove box locking clasp, maybe figure out a way to get a MacGuyver like probe in there to reproduce the unlocking motion in reverse.
Unless there is something in there you need to get to right away, I wouldn't rush in and break things and turn a $2 fix into a $200 repair.
