Exclamation Help With Head Unit

Well I took my car into Sound Waves in Canoga Park. To make a long sotry short... they installed 2 amps. JL 300/4 & 500/1. they took out my head unit and when they went to put it back the display dosent work... They said it loads discs but the disoplay dosent work.... They are telling me its some emc or something or other that needs a dics to be installed from the dealership... because the CD player (non bose) thought it was being stolen.... The dealer, who I called, siad they might have damaged the micro wires that connect to the front of the head unit(the screen/faceplate)... has anyone had this problem??? ITs takeing them forever...
They said it would be a 4 hour install now this is the second night I have left my car with them and Im loosing pacients with them? I paied them 400 to install 2 amps, 4 speakers and my sub.
Does anyone know what problem might have happened???

Please let me know
Rusty

There is no theft protection code built into the head unit - the dealer is probably right. They either damaged some wiring or a plug is not inserted properly.

Same thing happened to me. Took it to Mazda (Heidelberg) and they said some connector (details lost in translation) broke. They replaced it for FREE!

you might want to read the diy on radio removal. that way you could make sure all the connectors are correct.

if so i would wonder what they tapped into.

i had a similar issue with my 8 awhile back. it could be a loose plug, or it could be a damaged pcb (printed circuit board) that sits right behind the face of the radio. that was the issue with mine. also with mine, my heater/ ac controls didnt work either, only thing that worked was my fan control.

Does your climate control display work and do the climate controls themself work? If the climate control display is not working, it might be the molex for it is not plugged in. If the display is working, then they have damaged something in the install. This vehicle is not a easy task, this should serve as a reminder to all when they take their vehicle to any shop to have work done.
