are heads up display units street legal?

I can see cops bugging you about something being in the way of your view, anyone know if this is the case or not?

I'm thinking of developing one and I'm wrestling with the more practical questions first before I dive into trying to make something.

Some cars have HUD from the factory. If yours is similar you should not have a problem.

my girlfriends aunts GMC has it its sooooo nice! it even tells you what radio station you are on so you dont have to take your hands and eyes off the stearing wheel.
