Please help me!

I've read some threads on this but wondered if anyone had any new info.

I have an 06 RX8 and I want to play my iPhone through the stereo and I've established that:

- FM transmitters are rubbish!
- I can't use the XCar Link as I'm on firmware 10.01

What are my other options? Is my only option to get a new head unit with bluetooth connectivity?
