You need the control module for this to work. It's not just a simple rewire.

Spinning Sushi 03-09-2008 11:29 PM

I want one!

secret8gent 03-10-2008 12:02 AM

couple of questions:

does the module modify the open action (auto or otherwise) (as part of the new auto closing action), or is it left completely stock?

does the auto close action 'stop' when the sunroof is completely closed (or does it continue)?

does it tie into only one of the two roof buttons or both? - I wasn't clear from reading (but maybe i can figure it out from the pics)

I'm trying to get a grasp on the complexity of this item, depending on the answers and the price, i'm interested.

Q1. The open function remains unchanged.

Q2. It shuts off 1 second after the sunroof is completely closed. It will not overload the sunroof motor.

O3. It only ties into the full close button. (drivers side button set) However, if the sunroof is fully open, either close button (tilt or full) will close it with one touch.

Q4. The install is really easy.

Go try it. They only open with one touch. You have to hold the button down to close it.

As I said, no, I don't. Perhaps the previous owner did this? I am the second owner.

Must of. Because it was never an option on any 8.
