I just wanted to give you guys a glance at my latest project for the rx8.

The module I built (wrapped in black tape below) controls the factory sunroof circuit and allows the sunroof to be opened and closed with one touch.

The install takes less then 5 minutes and could easily be done by a trained monkey. Only 3 wires, two of which just attach with a bolt and the third uses a wire tap.

The sunroof can still be opened or closed partially by pressing the opposite button once.

 

Remove map light assembly.



(1 minute)

 

Attach ground wire with existing bolt.



(1 minute)

 

Attach power wire and trigger wire.



(2 minutes)

 

Make it look neat and put the map light assembly back on the car.



(1 minute)

 

Watch it work!

question OP... are the two screws the only ones to remove? maybe im worried on breaking it, but its not coming out...

 

You have to pull it down pretty hard. But yes, only two screws to remove the map light assembly.

 

I'm showing you guys a module that I built that will close the sunroof with one touch.

 

Maybe I'm missing something here, but my 05 Shinka already does that.

 

Go try it. They only open with one touch. You have to hold the button down to close it.
