failed at footwell lights. have an 07

i failed miserably trying to do this the other night. i tapped into 6 different wires and no success. i need to know on VLED led strips there are 2 wires....one with writing on it and one with - - - - - - - - - -. i assumed the - - - - one was the negative and the writing one was the positive...is this correct?

and where can i find a wiring diagram for the 07? i want them to always be on when the car is on.

i tried red/blue and darkgreen/black in addition to darkgreen/black and red/yellow(for always on)

each thread i read seems to say the same thing and i would assume i just did the wrong bundle except i tapped into 3 different bundles..now im wondering if these LED strips are just dead? idk...fail.

Guys remember they are diodes ... therefore their negative would plug into a positive

the problem is i reversed the wires and tried 3 different bundles 2 different ways(swapping the - and +) i heard that 07 wire colors might be different thats why i asked...i have rotary rasp instructions and thats what i used to find the red/yellow and green/black wire >_<

just tap into the cig lighter. Easy to find. and as soon as you have the car on they will be on.

+1 with what Lord ET said.

tapping the wires via Rotary Rasp's method has them on with the door lights, and they won't be on otherwise.

tapping the cigarette lighter allows the lights to be on when the car is first switched on ACC and IGN.

I agree with Lord ET. Tap the cig lighter. The easiest way to do this is to just stick the end of the wire in the fuse box with the 15 amp fuse for the cig. then all you need is a constant ground and there are a few nice bolts to use right above the fuse box. I did mine with a switch so that I could have them on with the door lights, all the time, or just off. works out well.

the OP failed at installing a light, but you failed at reading, which is worse?

Test the leds strips by connection them to a 9V battery. This will also tell you which point is negative and which is positive.
