EMERGENCY QUESTION - Installing my 6 Disc Changer, did I loose a connection?

EMERGENCY QUESTION - Installing my 6 Disc Changer, did I loose a connection?

6 places to put in connections on the back of my head unit, but I only have five wires to put in, the one next to the antannae is missing, or was it never there? I have no nav, and the bose system.... can someone please help??? its getting dark out!

you installed the 6 disc in dash right? don't worry buddy that extra connector is for an external disc changer...and is called EX1 (external one) I use the PIE adapter which is connected to that connection and this allows an AUX in...or you can use it to hookup an ipod and control it by the steering wheels

this is very weird.... the mazda rx-8 sign does not turn on...

Maybe someone can diagnos my problem... this is what I have figured out.. the display isnt working and, the radio etc does not work, but the air conditioner turns on and stuff, but does not show on the display either.... anyone at all?

GROUND the HU, check fuses (room, radio, ect.)
The chassis must be grounded

what do you mean ground the HU... I am completely lost at this point, I have connected everything... I will go and check the fuses right now...

Throw it on the ground !!
The radio needs to be grounded to the vehicle (metal of radio to metal in dash) for the system to work.

did you disconnect the battery BEFORE you started working on the HU?

just check if the connectors are fully in...the big one is a pain to push all the way

yes sounds like you need to reset your connections. the Text display is that small one with foam around it.. its easy to for get to plug that in.. it is the first one you unplug when you get the HU to slide out , so you can forget and just slide it back in wihtout plugging that back in. Also check all the fuses and then strat up the 8 . then turn on the HU ...

Ill tell you all what it was... it was the connecter thats on the two sides of the head unit (inside) and the cd/player radio hardware... make sure those are connected well...
