Eclipse Components

I just purchased an 07 Sport. No Bose. I am looking to upgrade the factory speakers. I have decided I want to run the Eclipse brand. Been there before & love them. Strong, clear & last. The only question I have is that they DONT run a 5x7/6x8 Component set, but do have a 6x9. I dont know much about stereos, but If I buy a sepereate 5x7 set & the 6x9 Components, could I infact put the tweeter in the stock housing & it sound ok? I know it sounds funny, but Im just not sure if the placement would make the music sound weird through out the car.. Anyone follow me & know the answer?

EDIT: Also, what kind of AMP would I be looking at to run all these speakers?

I highly recommend Eclipse, especially for the money. I put SC8365 3-ways in the doors and SC8264 2-ways in the rear deck, pushed by a EA4000 and it sounds great. Using the 3-ways, I got a lot better sound putting all 3 drivers in the lower door, but needed to add tweeters to the sail pods.

If you want to use Eclipse and are wanting a budget oriented system, you can't go wrong get the SC8264 w/ the woofer in the door & the tweeter in the stock location. Put SC6900's in the rear deck. Push them all w/ an EA4000 and it will scream. I'm not sure if it is because of the location in the 8, but I think my SC8264's out perform the 3-ways.

I too highly recommend the Eclipse speakers. The SC8264 are actually a VIFA made speaker in disguise. You will need to fabricate a ***pay attention here*** BLACK ABS mounting adaptor template to go into the front doors for the midbass driver. Rear speakers can either be the same as the front or the pointsource 6x9, SC6900. Also consider the XA4000 amplifier if you want even more power, all based around the class D ICEpower circuit. Read the how to wire through a door molex sticky and the what is a proper ground sticky as well.

Could you explain the ABS mounting adaptor a bit more? And what you mean by VIFA?

No dealers around here had any of the Eclipse SC series to demo so I actually bought them blind going on their reputation. I wanted to go a different route than everyone else and I can honestly say they sound excellent.

VIFA = A high end speaker manufacturer.

Since the speaker coming out is either a 6X8" or a 9", you will have to make an adapter plate to fit the 6 1/2" mid woofer. The door locations have been know to get wet so 1/4 ABS is recommended. Use black so it is less noticeable behind the door panel.

Definitely go w/ the XA4000. The ebay seller advertised an XA4000 but sent me a EA4000. This is the only time I have ever gotten screwed on ebay. However, paypal reimbursed me, so I now have an EA4000 that cost me less that $10.00.
