Question Dealer replaced Bose with base control assembly

My temperature control recently quit functioning (**** turned, but failed to adjust the heat) and my dealer ended up having to replace the control assembly to fix it. I'm fairly certain they replaced it with the one that goes with the base music system. My car came with the Bose system, which included Audio Pilot. Now, I no longer have AP, but ASC and the option to control mids in addition to trebile and bass. The mids option is great (I didn't have that before), but now everything sounds way too loud. I can't turn my system past 5 or 6. Even the beep is loud as hell. The volume levels increment perhaps 5:1 compared to the previous controls. Do you guys know of any problems I might encounter by using this control assembly? Any ideas on how to correct the volume? I could have the dealer just replace it with the correct one, but I really enjoy having the mid range option. In my opinion, the mids were always too high previously.
