will the advanced version charge the ipod?
Also looking at the pictures of the advanced, I am confused on how it will control the Ipod with RCA's...
Any light you can shed on this will be great!

The second one is in fact the PIE box, with all markings removed.

If anyone is interested in an aux-mod basic 1, send me a PM. I have one from the first batch that Overload sold and I've never installed it. I figure it's either **** or get off the pot time and since all my devices have FM transmitters that sound fine enough for me, it's likely someone else could make better use of it.

Couldn't wait any longer for advanced, got the basic and installed it, works very nice. The sound is very good. I use my Ipod in 2 other cars via cassette adapter and it is stronger (higher sensitivity) with the aux mod, less background noise as well. (no tape hiss) like the cassette adapters. Install took about 1 1/2 hours. Couldn't find the bitch screw then I realized that the bitch screw was missing, the dealership didn't put it back in when they put a new vent in above the radio, they can't do anything right not even change oil. They overfill, I even left a note on the shifter DO NOT OVERFILL OIL, get the bill 5 quarts. Check dip stick, at least an inch over fill line. Freysinger Mazda Harrisburg, PA. Had problems at Faulkner Mazda as well.

Try asking in another thread, this one has nothing to do with video.
I've emailed the guys over at Sylfex over a week ago with absolutely no response. Overload hasn't been active in this thread for quite some time. I'm pretty sure the advanced version of this project is completely dead unfortunately...

Well, good news and bad news. It arrived today. I plugged it in. It worked flawlessly and there was almost no noise whatsoever. I used it for about 20 minutes, then I noticed the left channel was much louder than the right. When I checked, the right channel was dead.
Fortuneately, I confirmed that the issue is with the filter, and not the iPod or the car.
This unit is very cheaply made, the connections are not very tight, so I thought with a bit of jiggling, it would get better. It hasn't. It's going back. I expect the replacement next week sometime. I'll keep the group posted.

Has anyone else tried this GLI and had problems with the filter? Just curious as I'm planning on buying this to use with my future AuxMod Basic.

i've not read every single page of this thread, so excuse me if i say or ask something thats already been mentioned............ so at the moment, i have an fm transmitter installed, that also charges my iphone/ipod, the sounds is ok, but does get a bit patchy to say the least, all i want is an AUX in 5mm jack adaptor for my iphone, i'll charge it as and when needed via the cig lighter, where do i source one from, i'll attempt to fit it myself as my local audio place want over £250 ($320) to supply and fit a charger that is hardwired to the HU and will charge the iphone, the stereo is a 6 cd stacker running 9.75 firmware, any ideas folks?

you can all go to gtacarkit.com i think is the website. or just go in google and type it in. pick the car you have, probably everyone here has an rx8 and they have ones that work and shows a video how to install it. i just bought one and waiting for it to come in the mail.

Headunit
Hi. Now that there is the capability to use iPod/iPhone by installing aux kits to the certain firm wares on the headunit.
I have the 10.01 headunit and looking to replace it with another headunit with the compatible firmware so I can hook the kit up
My question is does it matter what headunit I use? Like could i use a 2004 model headunit?
Thanks
