also, on the topic of BB or CC installers.....i work at BB and have had countless customers compliment us on how we are hands down the best place for installs in our area (but they do hate CC bc of hack jobs), but then again, the installers we have are very good at what they do, just a few of the good ones work at my store.
These are the baffles I ordered...

All I know is the installers for CC and BB here in east tennessee suck!

Why did you mount the tweeters there, instead of back in the stock location? EDIT: I NOW see that you have two sets of tweeters. One set in the back & then a set in the stock, correct?

Yes, there are a set mounted in the rear, and a set mounted up from where the factory bose tweets were...

Nice setup man! Just finished mine & checking out others in the threads now.

I agree, most CC & BB installers suck. They hire a lot of kids that have been doing it for like a week in their own garage. I will say that there is one I found that is actually good in the BB in Okemos, MI (Lansing area). I didn't use him for my latest install (rather do it myself), but has been doing installs professionally for like 20 yrs. I have seen him do some very nice installs (without hacking the car) & seen him make some custom wiring harnesses. Most people in those places would not put that kind of time & effort in.

You want to find a local owner run shop.
If you know anyone in your area with a good sound system, ask them where they got it. If there's a tuner shop around you, ask them for some recommendations.
All of the good shops i've worked with have had a few things in common:

1. They don't hide their install area away. They'll let you watch work that's being done.
2. They don't try to sell you the most expensive items in the store.
3. They will answer any question you have. You want to do as much research into the system you want, then go find a shop. When you talk to the guys who will be doing your install, ask their opinion. Get a feel for the guys and the shop.
Are they friendly? Do they know what they're talking about?
Have they worked on an 8 before?
Are they willing to show you pictures of previous work?

It might take some time to find a good place, but the leg work is sooooo worth it.

chain stores are a joke when it comes to installs, please do yourself a favor and seek out a mobile audio place in your area and have them do it. You'll get better service and better results pretty much guaranteed, the chain stores are just making numbers, they don't care about you or your car.

No, there is nothing Bose in the car anymore. In the front doors, there are Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Components...

Well, I have been very pleased with the quality and sound of the box. I have two Directed 10's and a 1500 watt Kicker amp.. I dont have any problems...except for a few rattles.. IMO... The bass that I have is plenty, almost too much at times...

so an efficient 1500 watt amp should be not problem for the RX8's charging system? what about the Hifonics BXi2607D or Hifonics BXi 2006D. rated at 1700 and 1300 watts at 2 ohms respectively. Are these amps going to put too much straing on the charging system such as dimming headlights or dead battereies?

thanks, gianni!
