Just bought My 8 and can't figure out how to change the display when you turn the key on that says "R-X8". I swear I saw on here once that can be done but I'm stuck.

Can't change without some serious soldering.

Can change *C to *F for temp, but not much else....

There are a few methods, but it takes something aftermarket every time. The Metra kit is the most common I believe.

 

You probably saw pics of a Rx8 with the Metra kit.

Apparently installation of the goodbox (search it) will allow you to change it.

The Metra kit is the dash kit that allows you to install an aftermarket radio. This kit allows you to change it to whatever you want too. Runs ~$150 + whatever new radio you pick out.

 

+ installation cost, unless you do it yourself.
