Change Advanced Key programming

Is it possible for a user to program this for Auto-lock themselves? Looking for the feature where it locks itself after I walk away.

I realize the dealer will probably do it for free - but might be a chance to learn something and see how some of the guts of this car work....

Arrow Nope....

I don't think the '8 has that feature.

If you can get a dealer to program it, let us know!

Do we actually have a sort of auto-lock when you open your car but but u don't go into it.. i mean the doors auto-lock itself again, that's VERY usefull in these moments when u gonna ride with your baby but your other baby (girlfriend/wife) call you at last time, and you have to com back.. and your car auto-locks. :D

Yeah, we've been over this(search it, haha).

It isn't anything a user can enable, it's in the ECU, they hook up the diagnostic tool, then flip a register, then it's enabled...there isn't any "hold this, do that, turn here" way to do it

Hope this helps.

Sorry, I always search before I post. I did see that line, but that was a while back and was hoping for a change of heart. Plus if I remember right that thread was really a diffrent topic so I didn't dig it back up. I was hoping from some way to hook my laptop up and get this this, and maybe other things done.

As a computer guy, I am a bit dissapointed to find out that either:

1 - not much work has been to done to hack the 8's systems or
2 - the 8's systems are way to protected to be easily hacked or
3 - the 8's systems are so rudimentary (binarywhatever) as to be not worth hacking

Anyway, it was worth a shot...

**** Edit to add the part about my laptop ****
