Question/help: Sub acting very bizarre
Hey guys, just wanted to see if any of you have encountered this problem.
Just recently my sub started to not fire intermittently. At first I thought i was just imagining it, but it become really obvious about 3 days ago.
Then yesterday my sub stopped working altogether.
I checked all the wiring/grounds & they're fine. I took the sub outta the enclosure & checked the wiring there too... everything is connected fine... but as i was handling the actually subwoofer(while the MD deck was on), when i grabbed the outta rim of the cone, the sub started working again.
I then discovered if i applied pressure to anywhere on the cone up to the outta lip of the cone it would work fine. I dont have to apply much pressure but without that it wont work at all...
What the heck is going on with it? I have no bass at all right now & i cant exactly drive while holding the sub (hahaha)... have you guys got any idea how i can fix this, or what is wrong?
Thanks a whole lot in advance for anything!
(This is my equipment BTW: http://www.motormusicinc.com/rx8.htm)
& as much as i'd like to take it back to the shop i got the work done, the last time i was there was over a year ago & the place is under new management whom i do not know.

Deals on wheels
well I honestly don't know.. but if I had to guess I would say that the sub is coming apart.. or coming unglued... I bet the warrenty would replace it.. go back to the shop and ask them about it....

either the tinsel leads are shot, or you have a slight open in the coil, if its under warranty, take it back to the shop where you got it, if not, you need to purchase a new one
you should be fine on the warranty, diamond has a very good warranty
