A/C Temp **** Broke today! :( Warranty?
It's freakin freezing outside right now...
I got in my car, then turned on the heater and as I switch from cold to hot on the temperature **** it broke off!! Well, it didnt come directly off but it sure felt loose and I could tell it was broken. As I slid it off of the dash I realized that the part that slides into the actual dash was broken.
The entire **** does still fit into the dash, but it is loose and it doesnt fit in to where it would display the correct temperature.
I doubt Mazda would cover this under warranty? but... would they? It just simply broke off... I didnt force it or anything like that.
If not, how much would a part like this cost to replace?
Thanks in advance!

What would be the best way to go about presenting this to the dealer? (mentioning the issue with ***** breaking?)

Here is a link to all the TSB's for the 8. There is a notification of the dial availability listed there. Just mention to the dealer that the *** broke and you can bring the printout in the link. How many miles on your car. The warranty is only so long for interior parts. A good dealer will cover it anyway.

Actually parts are warrantied for 4/50k (except wear parts), and this is obviously a design flaw, I doubt you would break it on purpose. They should replace this no questions asked.
