BOSE System Speaker Failure

BOSE System Speaker Failure
My front Bose speakers both are distorting really bad, and I think its because I listen to my music too loud. My fault I know. Can I replace JUST the front component speakers and retain the rest of the BOSE system?
If I am correct I would chose a set of components that I like and amp them correct? Or how else could I do this? Also have OEM Nav but I understand that is controlled through the deck.

Yes, you can replace them. I did so when I 'upgraded' my bose system. Take a look at the Infinity Kappa Perfects. sound AMAZING.
No need for an additional amp, might as well take advantage of the bose amp

I upgraded the front components, rear components, rear 6x9's, and added subs.
Don't take out the Bose door speakers, you'll have one HELL of a time trying to find something that works there.

The 9" woofers in the door panels of the bose system run at 0.5 ohms. No aftermarket speaker is going to be capable of handling an impedance like that. The front tweeters have a more standard impedance, so if your tweeters are whats blown, yeah get a set of aftermarkets and drop them in. If the woofers are gone you will need to replace them with OEM speakers, unless you want to wire up a LOC, amp, run cabling to the front of the car, and build some sort of adapter to fit a 6.5" speaker in a 9" hole.
As Jedi said, the rear deck speakers also have a standard impedance of 2-4 ohms, so the infinity kappa 6x9's drop right in and sound great!

I second the Infinity Kappas, they actually have a pretty decent low range (680.7cs and 693.7i). I still need a sub. I have plans for it, but no funds.
Replacing the doors speakers on the bose is going to be a bitch, there is practically nothing out there with a .5 Ohm impedance. You can find pretty much anything else in the bose system to upgrade as they have normal impedances. Its just those 9 inch woofers in the doors that will be the pain in the ***.
Edit: Yeah, what Socket7 said, HAHA
