sometimes you cant just add subs to a bose system
It can cause speakers to not work

but its alright---I have the bose system and I added 2 12inch JL subs with no problems

Depends on what Amp you get, cause some amps have their power over rated. Look to see if they list the RMS or Peak Power wattage and at what impedance (ohms). If you arent going to get new speakrs you definately dont need 1000 JL watts, you will inevitably turn down your sub cuase you cant hear your speakers. I would say go with a JL Audio 250/1 and a 12W3V2 OR A 10w3v2 (this would run you about 650). If you want to spend a little bit more money go with a 8W7 and a 250/1 ($700 around), this would sound perfect with the bose system. If you just want bass Id go with a 10W7 and a 500/1 (over a grand), or possibly 2 10W3V2s and a 500/1(bout a grand). I dont think 2 12's would fit very easily... unless you dont care about trunk space. I would go with a 10 inch sub tho, because the RX8 trunk limits what size enclosure you can put in there.

All I can say is two 12's with 1000 Watts (a piece?) is going to be really really loud.

I have one 10W3V2 and I don't think I have gotten it up to half of its excursion potential yet.
