Bass comes and goes

So I drove my RX8 for the first time today!!

As I was driving and playing around with the stereo, i noticed that the bass came and went.... like if there was a plug loose somewhere, I would get good bass at times and a small bump on the road later and then no more bass....

What could be the problem? Is there somewhere I can look to make sure all the connections are making good contact? I have 6 cd changer with the bose which by the way doesn't work (the cd player lol)

Thanks in advance!

The guy that owned it before i did had a system, so today I got in to turn the car on and let it warm up, as I had just turned it on, I hooked up my ipod to the transmitter and vultures by JM was playing at the beginning you could tell there was bass there, eveyrthing was normal; then i went back to the house locked it up and took off after a couple of mins. Going down the road, Techno started playin on the ipod and i realized that there was no bass wat so ever, and after a while i got on a bumpy road and then boom, the bass came back magically for a little while, so I think there is a loose connection somewhere...

if you have the Bose system factory ammp is located under the rear speakers in the trunk. usually after-market stereos can plug in there maybe they forgot to remove the preamp out or messed with the wires

I would start checking there something might be making the amp clip or speakers short out in the rear I noticed most bass comes from the rear in our 8's
