Has anyone noticed poor bass on Mazdas in general?

I noticed it immediately on my 8. This is the first car I've had where I actually reduce the bass to make it livable. It seems like there is no range too it, just low thumping which drives me crazy. So I'd rather turn it down and crank up the volume than listen to muddy low end.

I though it was the 8, but my wife's new 6 has the same issue. She noticed it independantly of me. So now we both have the bass turned down.

I like good music; all types. But I can't stand it when the bass is over done and all you get is extreme low end with no fidelity. This is one of my few complaints with my new ride.

 

Yeah, I replaced all my stock speakers with infinity kappas, and two 8's in the trunk. Much better.
