AVElectronics DVD switcher for NAV units
I just want to let everyone know that the DVD switcher unit from AVElectronic is a genuine value. I was a bit leary at forking out 500 bucks for a no name product but Sam from AVElectronic was great throughout the whole process. Sam had tried to come up with a plug and play version for me, and I understand he is still working on finding just the right size adapter. I decided I wanted to install it anyways and went ahead with cutting the four wires.
The unit comes labled as shown in the pic what wires need to go where. to hook up the unit itself took about 10 minutes. The rest of the time went to running wire, finding the power, etc. I will post more pics of the install in a few days, but I am on the road now, and dont have my camera with me. Oh, and whatever you do DO NOT hook up the yellow wire (which I always thought meant to hook it to a power wire) to a positive connection, it is meant to be grounded. I blew my unit out, but not to worry... AVElectronic repaired my unit and turned it around to me in less than a week!

ok i amgetting ready to put mine in.
Are you saying that the wire for the hand break sensor want to be hooked up to ground.. If you want to bypass the switch..
Like you i was assuming that it wanted 12 volts.. but i see the wire is marked -12 volts. so if i just ground that wire i will be bypassing the hand break switch?
