I was going to install the budget avelectronic, I was wondering is there way to install
without hooking up the e-brake. I was hoping to put in a switch.

 

It's a simple ground wire that you're dealing with (the yellow one). "Technically" you can connect it to anything you want...but legally you're supposed to be tapping into the parking brake signal wire so that it only comes on when the parking brake is up and the car isn't moving. But if you want to make a switch that activates it instead, it can easily be done. Just keep in mind that if you get into an accident or kill someone because you were watching the screen instead of the road, it's your fault and your problem. You don't realize how distracting it is to have a video in front of your face while you're driving until you actually see it for yourself.
