Any aux/ipod adapters that will connect/work with the stock head unit on fw 9.50? I saw the xcarlink but you have to have 9.55 or higher and the dealership cant upgrade it. So are there any adapters that work with 9.50(2004 mazda rx8, bose system)? Thank you for your help

If you still need it I found a member who did it themselves. I pulled out the radio and connected a aux line behind the radio. Downside only works when playing a blank cd. Let me know if you're still looking for the info.

 

Your best bet might be to watch the for sale threads. Just buy a used HU with the right firmware.

 

I checked mine yesterday (04 w/Bose) and I have 9.55
