(he has one of the more balanced systems I've ever heard, can't wait to get started on my stuff). I had a Phoenix Gold "cheater" amp on 2 DVC 12's in my little pickup, along with an ADS PQ10 for highs at one point (until some sorry bastards destroyed my right door and stole all my stuff), man do I miss that setup. I'm enjoying this thread, brings back a lot of memories, good info too
I bet those ******** took it to a pawnshop (the PQ10) and got like $50 for it.

I was thinking of the Fosgate amp you mentioned (700.5 I think). I am not 100% sure though. I am not going to kid myself into thinking my car stereo will sound anywhere near my home KEF/Yamaha system, it is a car, it is noisy and going to be playing MP3's from my Ipod so for that setup I think Infinity Ref speakers, Infinity perfect sub, fosgate amp will sound fantastic. If you are planing on Dynomatting you car to death, and driving under Apillar wind noise speed with all windows up, then you should go for the highest sound quality, but if not, then decent after market stuff you can afford should be just fine . . . my $.02

I decided I'm gonna stick with the Alpine 5 channel. Gonna get it next week--it'll be pushing Infinity Kappa 6.5" components in the front and Infinity Reference 6x9s 3-way in the back along with a Polk/Momo 8" sub in the trunk.

You'll be happy with the Alpine MRV-F450 - I have the same amp in my car and love it.
For about $300 shipped, you can't go wrong with this amp.

If I had the room in my car and the money I would get a HiFonics XXColossus and a Cerwin Vega 12" Stroker Pro (would like the 15" but I doubt it would fit) , who needs a trunk?
