Air Freshener/ Radio
Hi All, look at what a Febreze auto air freshener did to the paint of my OEM radio! The oil from it must have leaked down slightly during a hot or cold day. I searched and didnt see anything on this on the forum for this, so i though i would let everyone know. I guess i'm going to have to have a sticker made to put over it or have the whole thing painted, to say the least I'm pissed! any suggestions welcome.
my apologies if this thread should go somewhere else.
thanks

hahahahaha. Pardon my laughter, but I know exactly how you feel in your last picture.
My experience started with a story I saw on the news about a woman suing because her liquid air freshener leaked and ruined her dash. So two nights later when I was at Wally World and a friend was about to buy the Febreze car air fresheners, I warned her. She said she uses these exact ones all the time and told me to shut the &%$# up. Well I'll be damned if those air fresheners didn't leak and ruin the dash of her 3 month old brand new car. I felt her pain at first, but I had to say it...... "TOLD YA SO!!!"
Sorry for your damage, but let this be a warning to everyone.
PS. Good time to install the Metra kit and an aftermarket headunit.

DO NOT USE LIQUID AIR FRESHENERS IN YOUR CAR!

yes actually i have a metra kit i got for free, the issue is they do not spark my interest, a lot of the time aftermarket HU are expensive and become obsolete quickly. also i am perfectly happy with the OE, as i have an ipod/ mp3 adaptor in the glove box.
thanks for the comment.

Speaking from experience, on-screen iPod control is pretty friggin sweet. Video playback (both from iPod or DVD) is also nice for those long trips....or music videos if you want to show off. Bluetooth calling/music streaming is just icing on the cake. And if you have an iPhone, it's AppRadio ready (android interface available for extra). Meaning many apps can be used on-screen, hosted through the iPhone (navigation, etc). This also means that the maps are never out of date more than Apple/Google allows them to be.

Commiserations! I had a friend take mine out (the first one I've ever had) and put it back in upside down accidentally. It leaked everywhere and stunk up the van for weeks. I sold the van!!!!
