Exclamation AfterMarket Sat Radio Issues.

I have the Audiovox XM Radio Receiver, got it as a gift so there was no thought as to placement when purchased. Have searched for clean install.
Like both the in the Ciggy caddy, and the sunglasses holder. And went out to my car to check out the two locations to see which would work for my new radio and what do you know, the darn thing is way to huge. The docking station and the actual radio receiver both are a bit on the large side.

It will not work in the sunglass holder (unless I rip it out), and 'maybe' with serious dremeling and completely removing the ciggy place I 'might' (if i am lucky) get the thing to fit.

Has anyone else had this problem. And what were the solutions you came up with.

Saw where someone just attached it to their window and top of dash. But I would like to have a seamless install, if at all possible.

Is the only problem I am having, as I have everything else figured out and almost done before I can hide the wiring to put it where it needs. I am temporarily stuck.

Any insights would be way appreciated.

I know this is a crappy answer.... but you could always do a no receipt return to Wal-Mart and buy a different, smaller, receiver.

Other than that, if you want seemless Sat radio with the factory headunit, go OEM.

Try the Panavise In dash mount #751271104 mentioned in THIS thread.
